Summer 2011 saw TW Services place another accolade under their belts in the form of further enhancements to their ISO management system with the integration of the WRAP Protocol for recycled aggregates within the management tool.
WRAP (Waste Resources Action Programme) works with partners to prevent waste, promote recycling and develop markets for valuable products. WRAP works with the public and waste contractors providing information and tools that support recycling and reduce waste. This helps bring measurable gains to the economy and long term benefits to the environment.
The purpose of a Quality Protocol is to provide a uniform control process for producers, from which they can reasonably state and demonstrate that their product has been fully recovered and is no longer a waste. It also provides purchasers with a quality-managed product to common standards, which increases confidence in performance. Also, the framework created by the Protocol provides a clear audit trail for those responsible for ensuring compliance with Waste Management Legislation.
This enhancement to the already successful waste sorting and aggregate recycling activities at TW Services has only strengthened our position within the waste and recycled aggregate market.
Peter Friend, General Manager at TW Services comments: “The work and effort carried out with both WRAP and their consultants Red Scientific has proven to be extremely beneficial and invaluable to assist TW Services securing business with some of the major construction and groundwork’s contractors in the UK. The WRAP Protocol certification has strengthened TW Services position within the recycled aggregate market and assisted TW Services in becoming a major player in this sector”.
